Following on from the success of 2014 which saw over 150 editing and motion graphics projects completed, WaveFX have pushed ahead and installed a dedicated 4K editing and colour grading suite.

4K TV, also known as ultra HD or UHD, is the next generation of television picture quality, displaying four times the detail of HD.

Over the past 10 years or so, we’ve all been settling into the idea of HD video. Most videographers have made the switch from standard definition DV deliveries to shooting and delivering at 1920×1080 or some other HD format. But as usual, technology marches on.

Jamie of WaveFX commented “This isn’t technology for technology sake, for example we stayed clear of 3D cameras and stereoscopic editing, 4K simply allows us to film a wide shot and edit several different HD scenes from that 1 shot using a single camera – that’s pretty amazing and gives us the flexibility when editing to create compelling videos for our clients without the high cost of multi-camera shoot”
